I knew you'd like the parking lot scene Sis! Lorraine, I know that apparently HBO likes to put out false rumors. They said a "major" character was gonna get whacked. Lorraine hardly seems like a major character. Even if you count off scene stuff, she was apparently so important that she was never at meetings with Carmine. The other mislead, they said on one board "Lorraine wishes there were more people in Albany," leading people to expect a thinner phone book and bigger gun, so now I can't believe anything in the rumor mill. Feech, the only thing I'm thinking of there is what is he gonna do? I mean, they got him on those TVs, and they'll listen in on his calls. He might do a thing of like poisoning the water, but nothing overt, and I think that he's behind bars for life now. The remainder of his sentance, plus the TV charges. Other little note, Pussy's Poker Heaven, on the site, they got Feech as a player...oops. But I'm wondering that now they brought in new blood, and already two are gone. Paulie, he's on no one's good side, but all of a sudden nothing is happening about all the crap from last season. He was pissing everyone off big time, and was a good candidate for a plot, but now...CONTINUITY! Carmella, no idea where that's headed. the empty home thing, I saw one thought that the irony is that Tony was the one who thought he'd lose his family, but now she has no one to come home to. Melfi, we see Tony's back in therepy next week, so that thread returns.

I knew you'd like the parking lot scene Sis! Now that was ballsy!! Not sure which boards you hit- but so far things have been pretty accurate- though some things have happened sooner rather than later- but just the same- they did happen. The one about Lorraine that I saw circulating was that she wasn't gonna be around very long, that she had a nude scene and was gonna get offed in the shower...that one happened- though it was sooner than expected. A 'major character' whack still could happen- no one's said at what point in the series it was/is supposed to happen...The new speculation is Chris since previews showed them out in a field getting ready to off somebody, the headlights from Chris' Hummer shining on them and you could make out that everyone was there- except Chris- and the sillouette of the guy the gun's pointed at fits Chris' build. No one's sure what to make of this one...Chris is away on 'business' in this episode, so they could've borrowed Chris' Hummer and it could be someone else (but who??)...or another line of thought is it could be a dream sequence- Adriana dreaming about what could happen if she's found out... But the previews always seem to make little things that turn out to not be of much importance look like something major and never give away the real major stuff... But we'll see how accurate the spoilers are...this episode's supposed to involve a car accident with Tony and Adriana- which is what prompts 'rumors' about Adriana (and supposedly they ain't about her being a rat ) I don't think I'd write off Feech quite yet...look at all the damage Paulie managed to cause behind bars. Paulie's the wild card...he's an 'old school' hot head and that gets him into trouble- but deep down I think his loyalites are with Tony...but his lack of judgement could still come back to bite him and could eventually be his and Tony's downfall. Chase seems to be starting to tie up some loose ends- but starting with one's from earlier on in the series- and he might just be working his way down the line towards the more recent ones. Oh yeah- and forgot to post this little news item: De Matteo Set as 'Joey' Sister How You Doin'? De Matteo Set as 'Joey' SisterBy Nellie Andreeva LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - After a lengthy search, Drea De Matteo of "The Sopranos" fame has landed the role of Joey Tribbiani's sister on NBC's upcoming "Friends" spinoff series, "Joey." The comedy centers on the relationship between Joey (Matt LeBlanc), who moves to Los Angeles, and his sister Gina (De Matteo), a hairdresser who lives with her son. Probably smarter than Joey, Gina has a way with men, much like Joey has with women. She's a strong woman who isn't afraid to speak her mind. De Matteo is best known for her role on HBO's cult mob drama "The Sopranos," on which she plays Christopher's (Michael Imperioli) fiancee, Adriana, who is recruited by the FBI. Her new gig on "Joey" will not interfere with her contractual obligations to the 10-episode sixth and final season of David Chase's hit series, sources said. De Matteo, whose credits also include "Swordfish" and "Deuces Wild," next appears in "Go Go Tales" and "Assault on Precinct 13."

Well, they had one of the Jews on commentry for Slate, and he pointed out that no ethnic group is portrayed very well in the show. The Italians are all mobsters, the Jews are all greedy and materialistic, the blacks are all drug dealers or corrupt politicians, etc.
This week's episode...what was that? Out of the blue, Tony has feelings for Adrianna...I'm more inclined with what they were saying that if he was so reluctant to take Valentina, who was with a capo he despised, how could he even consider a girl who's with his designated successor? It almost seems like a stand alone episode. And then there were no side threads this episode. It almost seems like a stand alone episode. The only reason I can think of it is to dispel any notions that we might have that tony and Carmella will reunite. Or it could be setting up the final downfall of chris. We'll see what transpires.

Is Sopranoland one of them by any chance LS? They've been doing pretty well calling things.
I don't feel this week's episode was a stand alone. I saw it showing shifts in the relationships between the characters that will impact where the story goes from here. The relationship between Tony and Chris is forever damaged and they'll never trust each other again. Will Chris and Ade get married now? Although Chris is tenuously convinced nothing happened, few of the others believe nothing happened and there will always be whispers about it. It looks like the animosity between Paulie and Chris could be over since it was Paulie who spoke up for Chris and told Tony not to kill him. Tony's stature with the family could diminish since this is the second time he opted not to whack a crew member who broke code. It looks like the relationship between Ade and the feds may change now too. It also looked to me that the relationship between Tony and Carmela may have shifted slightly too because he seems to have convinced her that this time he was innocent and it looked to me like she believed him. It probably isn't enough to get them back together, but it may give her pause to see he's not a complete rat and there's still something good in him.

Well, this episode, hmmm. Not much to say. it was good, but rather straight forward. didn't think tony B would last that long civilian. But won't Kim go to his parole officer...then again, he knows he's with Tony S. but that bag out the window, c'mon. Carmella, well, what is the point of having her now, besides fighting Tony. It'll be good to go back to a more expansive storyline next week.
Thing that bothers me is Chris...all is hunky dory. In real mob life, he'd be dead for that, wouldn't have made it out of the field.

Well, they had one of the Jews on commentry for Slate, and he pointed out that no ethnic group is portrayed very well in the show. The Italians are all mobsters, the Jews are all greedy and materialistic, the blacks are all drug dealers or corrupt politicians, etc. Oh puh-leeze...NO ONE is portrayed very well on the show. Women are either materialistic whiners or bimbos (or both ;D ), the kids all overindulged spoiled brats...and how 'bout the Feds?? They're portrayed as a bunch of bumbling Keystone Kops...oh wait- that one may not be too far off. Yeesh...really running behind & got some catching up to do!! Well I see the spoilers for last week's episode were pretty much on target...I'm with Roland on that one though- that's pretty much how I saw it and thought that was a really good show. This week's show...I didn't like this one. The whole premise of how they were getting cousin Tony back in was pretty weak I thought...just didn't seem like there was enough there to make him snap like that- especially going after Kim like that. I'm thinking the bag of money was a set up on Tony's part to lure cousin Tony back in...he kind of had this smirk on his face and didn't seem the least bit surprised at the end when cousin Tony asked to get back in... Thought Carmella came off looking like a total jerk in this one...like who decides to have an affair with somebody and then keeps incessantly talking about their kid- 'before, during and after' ...and even leaves the guy hanging there once because she was too upset about AJ?? ...And then she blames getting dumped on Tony?? And yep Roland...Sopranoland is one of 'em- there's a bunch of others too like nj.com & the Bracco site...

Yeah, that's the point he was making. No one group can go out and complain cause it's like join the club. Let's see, haven't commented on the past two weeks. Camelot, well, we now see what the point of that was, to get Phil pis*sed at Tony. I heard her kid winds up being Tony's half brother, but I guess we'll see. It was interesting seeing Tony get mad as she trashed his mother. But I can't buy THAT as Tony. But then, he was that age in the 70s, the era of long hair, so. Real interesting seeing Livia as the victim. Funny seeing Junior going to all those funerals! What a way to get out of the house! ;D This week, this is the first one that really grabbed me in a while. It was cool seeing the party, and good to get more insight into Carmella's parents. Nice stab at her mother! I was wondering how Hugh could love Tony like that with what he did to Carmella, but then, I guess the DeAngileses are "more Italian" than they look. Funny thing though, I had always gotten the impression that they both disliked Tony, and merely tolerated him as son-in-law. Never seen Hugh show any affection for Tony before. Like most of the boards, I thought that Tony and Carmella were headed to reconciliation til the preview. Tony B looking at Meadow, the first watch I thought he was attracted to her, which would just be wrong, but the second run I thought more along wanting a loving daughter, the one he lost. Tony B really shoulda answered for that crack at the party, the slave part. Then of course he went and got Jersey involved in the New York war. A few spots like Slate made mention of his breaking the rule against killing women, but 1. they broke that with Lorraine, who shouldn't have been that high by tradition anyway-or even back to season two with Analisa, although she wasn't killed-and even the Italians have begun killing women at least as collateral damage recently. I took OC freshman year, and they told us one case where they killed a mob wife. Didn't they whack Gotti's daughter? And they killed one in the Corleone takeover in Godfather, way back in 74. What little "honor" these guys ever had is long since gone. And for all the thoughts, I think Feech is gone. With parole violation it's guilty until proven innocent. I haven't seen a thing on him in spoilers-however reliable they might be. Funny thing is, I miss Feech. So now they got rid of two of the high profile new blood folks, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Tony B get it because he made himself friends in no quarter with that hit. I remember complaining about no replacements for those getting killed off last season. They brought more in, only to have them lost, what gives. Oh well, they don't have to keep it going for too much longer, but they do want to go out on top I assume...

Yeah, that's the point he was making. No one group can go out and complain cause it's like join the club. It's no worse than most other TV shows in over the top cartoonish portrayals of some segment or another of the population...guess that's why it's called entertainment. ;D I dunno- season started off so strong- and now at the half-way point with the last two episodes it seems to be meandering again...though it was cool to finally see the episode they shut down the LIE to shoot and had everyone thinking Riverhead Raceway was really shutting down when they put up the prop sign about it closing- lol!! Yeah it was kinda funny- but pretty weird since in previous seasons he took death so hard..."Everybody's dying- I can't take it anymore." This one had me pretty bored...I thought it was pointless to spend that much time on the party thing when it looks like things are staying on the road to divorce. The only thing it did do was flesh out Tony B's character a little more...he's obviously an opportunist and a dirtbag despite how he tried to portray himself as a good guy when he got out. Some flashbacks would've been nice with his character so we could see what he was like before he got sent up the river... Think Tony's cutting him some slack while he 're-adjusts'... plus I don't think Tony would argue that Carmella's a nag ...and the only reason Tony was even there was because her old man wanted him there. (Why do I get the feeling her father's gonna wind up shooting himself with that gun??) But nope now he's in some real deep doo-doo with going behind Tony's back & doing that NY whack I'd say. That part kinda lost me...who did Tony B. do the whack for?? Little Carmine?? Uh-uh. Princess Victoria's an 'author' now ...dumped her idiot goomba husband after he got busted and sent to jail- got all the money and the estates. She's writing for the Star now...giving her 'predictions' on the Sopranos...and she's mostly wrong- LOL!! The other daugher's like Barbara in the Sopranos...totally disassociates herself from the rest of the family. Jr. on the other hand- all of them wanted to whack...but they got him out of the way by just sitting back for a little while and letting the Feds handle it- as expected the idiot screwed himself and wound up shortly following daddy behind bars. Hard to say with the way they start things and let them drop...some characters seem to disappear or are rarely seen from season to season and then all the sudden they're back front & center. Like Angie hasn't been seen since the Puss got whacked- then all the sudden she had a big part in the last episode...and we find out Tony gave her Puss' business to run to boot.

It's no worse than most other TV shows in over the top cartoonish portrayals of some segment or another of the population...guess that's why it's called entertainment. ;D Yeah, but in today's overly PC world, it's ballsy, like you said. Yeah, but I suppose being locked up like that... Yeah. Thing is, I'm used to seeing Buscami as an out and out psycho, so this doesn't look bad at all to me. From what I read he has quite a resume, but I've only seen him in conair and again, other nutjob roles. Lol, nah. I think they just needed a pretext to get Tony and Carmella in bed again. Apparently not with Tony, but the sh*it will fly if Johnny confirms his suspisions. Carmine didn't know about it, his underlings ordered it on his behalf, at least I think he didn't know. at first I thought that they were hitting someone far below Lorraine-like Peeps would count as retaliation for killing her boyfriend, but then we saw how important this kid was to Johnny. Two questions. Did that hooker bear a striking resemblance to Meadow to you? I later thought why didn't Tony B think so the way Tony S did with Tracee. and did she look a little too "well groomed and mannered" to you to be working in a low-level place like that? I might buy a gentleman's club, but while she looked trashy enough, she didn't act it. JMO. Wasn't there someone, a woman, close to him who got it? I was wondering if they'd done that in season three and I missed it. i'm wondering what the significance of that will be. Tonight was too funny! First Paulie with Finn! I was laughing for like 5 minutes straight when his eyes bugged out of his head! I haven't laughed that hard in ages! Then Vito with the security guard! How has he kept that secret? Then they screwed up on Joey Peeps' tombstone! Was the Pine Barrens episode this good? And Adrianna CALLING the FBI! I'm thinking she likes having her own personal attack dog, but they'll catch on and it'll trace back not to her but to Christopher, and it'll be a done deal with his temper, and the fact that he came for Tony in the club. I wonder why they focused so much on Meadow this week though (not that I'm complaining ). I want to know how Finn is gonna have to answer for the Yankee game. But I did think Vito was gonna kill him to keep him quiet about the security guard incident. But um, is that what I'm gonna have to deal with when I finally find someone?

Yeah, but in today's overly PC world, it's ballsy, like you said. Lol...I meant the scheme itself. I mean come on...they brought in car carriers to clean out the parking lot (which was brightly lit and they weren't exactly being quiet about it!!) and nobody inside- guests or staff- noticed or heard anything until they were long gone?? Eh, but far as it goes, personally I think the exaggerated stereotyping is all part of Chase's agenda...aimed directly at the 'PC-ers' ;D ...and he's not so much playing the 'stereotype card' as he is mocking PC-ism. I don't know- I'm seeing a bona fide psycho bubbling under the surface in Tony Uncle Al...We're starting to see flashes of it...beating the crap out of Kim, the Peeps whack...think it's just a matter of time before the beast is fully unleashed. That's why I said some flashbacks woulda been nice so we could get a glimpse of what he was like in action before he got sent away... I'm sure they could've come up with a more direct way instead of wasting almost a whole episode. Thought the last episode was pretty funny after Carmella was gushing to Gabriella about that night and a reconcilliation and then Tony drops off AJ without getting out of the car. (And pretty sneaky move on Tony's part with the lawyers...now she's really screwed. ;D ) Yeah but now we know the only reason for that is because Tony feels like Tony B "went to Vietnam and he was 4F"...major guilt trip. And it's looking to me like Tony B knows it and is using it to his advantage- which is gonna make things interesting. He just manipulated Tony into handing him the lucrative gambling club- which royally pissed off a lot of people who were in line for it way ahead of Tony B... Johnny definitely didn't look like he bought it- and he's not one to let things drop...I mean the guy still didn't drop it despite (Big) Carmine's orders when he was determined to get retribution for that joke about his wife. That I'm still not clear on...on the one hand it seemed he didn't know- but then there seemed times he did- like at the meeting with his crew in the last episode... No I really didn't notice one...and didn't seem to me Tony B really even got a look at her- it was dark and they were already in the car when he approached them and looked to me like he just started shooting into the car without looking- she was just a 'collateral witness' he had to get rid of. As far as the second question...no not really on that one either. Takes all kinds and you can't always judge a book by it's cover... None that I recall...there's something about a sister who's husband got whacked- she was positive he was behind it and they became estranged...but that's about it. Peter Gotti's goomah went public a couple weeks ago and committed suicide a few days later...But honestly never heard about any women associated in any way getting whacked- except for the occasional hooker who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong person... Nope...last we saw of Angie was when Tony went to her house after they whacked Puss and gave her some money...she complained it wasn't enough to get by on- Tony got pissed and told her that was all she was getting and stormed off...so her suddenly turning up running the business was a big surprise. I'm not sure of the significance considering he screwed her on the repair job- and stuck her with the tab...I think in some ways he feels a little guilty over her circumstances- but it seems he's only letting her have just enough to get by on. Paulie is a total rip!! They soooooo can't ever whack him- that'd kill the whole show!! Vito...we're sittin' there with our jaws hanging open asking 'are we seeing what I think we're seeing??!!' (Well- another spoiler comes true- they said one of the crew was gonna get outed!!) And the tombstone..."What can I say Tone- the guy's dyslexic. We'll get it fixed"...lol!! But nope- this one was funny but not even close to as good as the Pine Barrens...that one was non stop hysterical- my very favorite episode of the whole series. ;D That whole thing is too weird...not only does Chris have a temper- he holds a grudge- and it's like that whole thing with the accident never happened- and that's been bugging me...it's totally out of character for Chris. Think partially to stroke the mother/daughter conflict...Meadow's found a new love ('happiness') and is starting on the road towards marriage- while Carmella's miserable and at the end of hers. I think Finn kind of has the upper hand (though he doesn't realize it yet)...he's the boss' daughter's boyfriend- and now that they're engaged- fiancee...so I think that'll keep him safe from Vito. (Look at Paulie after he realized who the kid was. ) He could give Vito some story that Meadow had made plans that he couldn't get out of (like a family dinner or something)...Meadow already had one boyfriend (Jackie Jr.) whacked- but that was on Tony's orders. I don't think an underling would be that brazen- yeah if they find out he's gay he's dead, but if they find out he whacked the boss' prospective son-in-law, he's dead too. And how would his 'disappearance' be explained?? Vito would have to make it look like an accident- but Finn told Meadow what he saw, and if she tells Tony in her grief, Tony would not only know it was no 'accident'- but his secret would be out (hmmm...that'd make two major black marks against him and Vito might be the first one to rate being double whacked!! ) But they also set up the thread in the story that Finn's worried about money- and maybe when he realizes his position, he'll use it to his advantage and Vito will be paying him off to keep his secret... LOL!! That just dawned on you??

I guess the reason she didn't look like a hooker to me was because I'm so used to seeing girls dress like that normally nowadays. Vito, that may have just been a teaser. I don't think we'll see any more on that. Finn is too scared of this world to use this position. Meadow, I love her denial! Like Tony was gonna expose her to that violence. Fourth episode of the series she forces him to admit he 's in the mob, and the "yeah right" comment when Jr did the perp walk in the finale, now she rationalizes it. It actually is true, her reasoning for the original immigrants, but none of the characters on the show were born in Italy, Furio excepted. I think they're all 3rd gen. Cold Cuts-Well, that little ball breaking they did on Christopher I think will be part of Tony's downfall next season. We know something happens with Adrianna from this week's preview, and she'd love an out, and this is just the kind of thing that would push Chris out, into FBI arms. Also, looks like tony's gonna have a war with New York as soon as it settles itself down. Johnny might do something anyway. Definitely their friendship is damaged beyond repair. The Vespas are proof. The exhumation, what bullsh*it Tony B was putting out! Respects everyone and nothing to do with Peeps. Janice, it wasn't fun seeing her normal. I was rolling watching her get tackled on TV! It was good to see her go nuts at the end...but then who wouldn't have? That certainly made Tony unlikable though. One thing that bothered me, the political commentary. Yeah, I read that Little carmine is supposed to be like Shrub, and then someone else was supposed to mirror Cheney, and they need to address current events, but since when has terrorism become Tony's number one concern? That seemed so contrived. It's been almost three years since 9/11, now they worry about what the terrorists can do? Plus, do they think about it? I mean, I'm moving to the Bronx, so i'll be in any blast radius. I accept that. I mean, I despise Bush, but I like to escape the current circus when I watch Sopranos. Test Dream-That was a sick joke at the start. The preview stated "While Tony's relationship with Valentina is heating up, he still can't get an old flame out of his mind," and then they set her on fire. I had to laugh at the sick humor. Now was that just normal disorientation where she thought he was going to operate on her, or could that level of heat on her head overheat it and cause brain damage? Tony B., I've never seen anything so obvious coming. He's dead meat. Didn't even need to see a preview to know that. Seen a lot of speculation on the symbology. Just seemed long to me. Good to see all the old folks. But what's the symbology of Artie being the only one alive in the dream? I do think that this more than anything points to Tony not surviving the series. I know they were always planning on killing him off, even back when it was going to only be three seasons.

Vito, that may have just been a teaser. I don't think we'll see any more on that. Finn is too scared of this world to use this position. Money does funny things to people. Yep while he's scared of it- I think he'll realize- even if inadvertently- his position is what'll keep him safe...the only one he really has to worry about is Tony- and not getting him pissed off. Revenge is best served like cold cuts...Italians and their food- lol!! Think the point of that one was showing how different both Tonys are when apart and how different they act when they're together- and that both have a sadistic streak (the tandem ball breaking with Chris- which neither did when each was alone with Chris- & Tony deliberately baiting Janice). No, even though the thing with the accident's still bugging me- if it's really been forgiven & forgotten- I think Chris will always be loyal to Tony...that's why the jealousy of Tony B. And Chris didn't exactly seem too broken up when he went to Tony's room to tell him about Tony B.- he knew that was the final nail- and in the previews didn't he offer to 'take care of it' and Tony said no, he had to take care of it himself (which I'm assuming the 'it' is Tony B)?? Once Tony B's gone- Chris regains his place as the favored one... Johnny already did it...obviously he's not buying Tony B didn't whack Peeps- so he had Angelo whacked. Angelo was close to Tony B. (they were cellmates for 20 years)- so that one settled the score for Peeps. But then Tony B. went and whacked Billy in retribution. The war's already in full swing. Now if Tony whacks Tony B., Johnny's gonna know Tony lied to him...and you heard what Johnny said to Tony if he found out Tony lied to him...So I'm thinking Chris being the closest to Tony might be the one in the most danger and could be next- which might be what prompts Adriana to fully cooperate with the Feds in an attempt to save him. What've you been reading...Over-Analyze This?? ;D I really haven't noticed any overt political commentary. Guess it just depends on one's personal perspective as to whether it seemed contrived or not...I found it pretty realistic to what life's like around here and it really had nothing to do with politics, acceptance, the length of time since the event- or even 'family business.' It was more about the psychological aspect. The show is set in the area where 9/11 happened. Jersey was hit just as hard as NY as far as casualties. Chase re-shot the opener after 9/11 because the shots where Tony's driving on the Jersey Pike showed the Towers in the background (which could be seen for miles & miles from the Pike)- a view that isn't there anymore. You used to be able to see them from a pretty good chunk of Jersey and what happened was witnessed live from lots of vantage points in Jersey- not from images on the TV. No one thinks about it constantly or obsessively...but like with Tony (his reaction seemed purely human and really had nothing to do with 'business')- the average person here goes through the same thing from time to time. Anything can trigger it and it often comes out of the blue at seemingly weird times and in odd ways (then of course there's also all those not so gentle reminders like today)- which, if anything, is what I think Chase was showing. That episode was mainly about Tony's psychological conflicts and increasingly irrational behavior...he just zeroed in on something random he saw pass across the TV screen that happened to be about the non-inspection of cargo containers (which is a national thing at any port where cargo's unloaded) that triggered his reaction- and then acting out on it and beating the crap out of the bartender in front of his crew just illustrated his increasingly poor judgement and loss of control. The other point- they're also in the 'import-export' business (ie: Puss's legit business is a front for their chop shop- most of that stuff gets shipped overseas. Then Johnny stiffed them on that 'shipment'- and that stuff ain't made in the USofA ) so it seems feasable to me they'd have concerns. Got in late and missed that part- turned it on in time for the Angelo whack so had to stay up till it came on HBO West to catch it. That was pretty weird- she came outta nowhere last year and swooped in- then not a word about her this season. Tony's gone after just about every female around after getting kicked out ( Charmane who's never made it a secret she despises him?? ) but he was never once shown with Valentina. Probably hallucenating...partly from normal shock and partly because they probably had her doped on morphine or something for the pain. But it remains to be seen just who ultimately gets him. Yeah but conspicuously missing was Jackie Jr for some reason. A scene that included Tracey was shot- but was obviously cut. All the references to Mafia movies was pretty surprising- and interesting- and they started even before the dream sequence with Angelo's whack taken right out of Goodfellas...Annette Benning was pretty clever though. At first I was like- huh?? Took me a few minutes to make the connection there. The scene with the coach where he told Tony he went bad by hanging out with a bad crowd- especially the Bucco kid who was the worst. Then Tony told him about the restaurant and how Artie turned out ok...Ironically Artie was the only one of 'the crowd' who didn't get involved and stayed legit. I don't know yet. There were so many references to the Valachi Papers in the dream, and then when Ralphie told Tony they were taking him to 'take care of it' they pulled up in front of Tony's house. That could mean he's supposed to clean house- not necessarily just getting rid of Tony B.- but cleaning 'both houses.' All the references to the Valachi Papers (and Ray Liotta's voice on the phone telling him to 'take care of it') has me thinking maybe he saves himself and his marriage & family by flipping- getting out and starting over somewhere in witness protection- 'The Chosen One' breaking the cycle that ends with him and he saves AJ & future generations...

Money does funny things to people. Yep while he's scared of it- I think he'll realize- even if inadvertently- his position is what'll keep him safe...the only one he really has to worry about is Tony- and not getting him pissed off. Nah, he really doesn't have the balls I don't think. He threw up at what was a relatively minor thing. I think that Finn wouldn't be able to take "the life" unless Meadow cut herself off from it, which you know she won't do. Yeah, or he could use the Leotardo hit to justify it. Being that Phil survived, odds are he knew that Tony B did it, so he's dead. Tony S can still kill Tony B for that while continuing to deny his responsibility for Peeps. I mean it' not like Johnny believed him before. Yeah, but I think what it was was the fact that Tony always positions himself as the tough guy never letting others see him weak, and this was probably the most vulnurable he's ever shown himself to be. I've never seen this in Tony outside Melfi's office. But you don't think that swipe at Haliburton was coincidental, do you? I mean, it's known that Chase is anti-Bush, and more and more shows have been overtly commenting. She's been on a couple of times this season. I think the opener, and like 5 seconds in Camelot. Tony saw the picture of the dog while in bed with her, right after learning about his own dog, and I think it dampened his libido. Charmaine, I kinda figured he liked her, but what's he smoking to think that she'd give him the time of day outside of work? What I'd like to know is why she hates him so much. She liked him enough to sleep with him in years past, before the show, so I think there's more to it than simply that he's in the mob. They might even leave that for the season finale, let him live another week. Jackie, I'm thinking the actor wasn't availible. Tracee, they put that pic on the website, so I'm thinking that was cut last minute. They had to have known before putting that up that it wasn't going to be shown. But where was Richie? He was in the credits, but I didn't see him. I caught the Godfather ones in the bathroom. Never seen Goodfellas. And the funny thing is Chase says he hates doing this. I guess he can get away with it being that it was a dream. Yeah. Think Artie is gonna help him get out of the mob ("In here.") I don't think he can flip. He's too high on the feds hit list. Lower guys flip to turn in the big guys. No one's above tony for him to flip on. Besides, it would be too anti-climactic for Tony to survive, and it wouldn't fulfill the tragedy premise (theater class actually taught me something ). I think Tony will die in the next to last episode, and his funeral will be the series finale.

Nah, he really doesn't have the balls I don't think. He threw up at what was a relatively minor thing. I think that Finn wouldn't be able to take "the life" unless Meadow cut herself off from it, which you know she won't do. Yeah but then so did Adrianna when she was waiting in Chris' SUV while he swung by the construction site and witnessed the same exact thing (just a different person). While she doesn't want to 'know'- she knows (and has witnessed and been exposed to a whole lot more than the other wives) and lives with it... Don't think he can...that was Johnny's whole message behind it- that he's not buying Tony's story and knows it was Tony B and the game's over. Yeah he has...especially when they found Tracy's body and Tony went after Ralphie and Paulie & Sil had to pull Tony off him before he killed him (totally against code). And then killing Ralphie over Pie-O-My. This season he didn't whack Feech out of his emotions for Uncle Junior's 'condition'...and Sil figured that out (all that stuff about the old days and how respected Feech was). Then there was letting Chris off the hook...and his actions towards Tony B since he's been out due to his own guilt complex. Like I said- I really didn't notice anything overt because (in any walk of life) it's a normal daily topic of conversation around here. So as I said, I guess it's just a matter of someone's proximity and perspective... Guess I blinked and missed it...but considering she played predominately last season- seemed very odd. Probably the fact that Tony's been trying to suck Artie in for years and use the restaraunt for 'family' business...which was the cause of their divorce- she'd had enough of Tony taking advantage of Artie's friendship and Artie letting himself be used... Yeah but being for the most part all the dearly departed's parts were very brief- if that was the case then he coulda just used a shot from a past episode like he did after Nancy Merchand passed on and needed scenes to bring closure to Livia. Ritchie was in one of the car scenes... That's what made the whole episode surprising to everyone...because he refused to do that. But he got a whole bunch of 'em in- The Godfather, Goodfellas, Bugsy and then The Valachi Papers... He's high...but Jersey is still considered small potatoes to the Feds compared to NYC (not to mention the NYC mob looks down on them too ) and he could bring down NYC and the Feds would definitely deal- why settle for small potatoes when you can have the big fish?? Well the whole premise of the show was originally built around Tony & Livia- and when they lost her, everything went in a whole other direction. Then it went from 3 seasons to 4 which was gonna be 'it', then 5 was ' definitely it' and now that's been stretched to 6...I quit trying to second guess Chase a long time ago...a lot's been anti-climatic over the seasons- he's zigged when we expected him to zag and zagged when we expected a zig...Most people are expecting Tony to die at the end- just like in the mobster movies he steers clear of- and I wouldn't put it past Chase to definitely not give the show the 'expected' ending... ____________________________________________ Long Term Parking...Wow!! Well the major character they were promising got whacked. Had a strong feeling she wasn't gonna last the season and saw that one coming as soon as she spilled to Chris and he went for his 'walk'- but for some reason it was still kind of shocking...and sad- she was such an airhead you kinda couldn't help but like her in an odd sorta way. Far as the rest- everything else seemed way too unsettlingly easy...first the reconcilliation...or is Carmella setting Tony up for her final revenge?? And then Little Carmine ('stagmire'??!! ) just handing things over to Johnny- without a fight??...(especially given his hardass capos who were the ones that actually started the war with the Peeps hit). Or are they setting up Johnny?? Tony's not even denying to Johnny that Tony B wasn't responsible for Peeps anymore...And yep Paulie & Sil are right when they said if he thought Johnny was bad before- now that he's boss nobody ain't seen nothing yet. Even though Tony's not about to let Johnny take out Tony B 'however he sees fit' and it's obvious any feelings of friendship and goodwill are permanently over, I don't think Tony's letting Tony B off. I'm getting the impression he knows he's gotta do it and he just wants to handle it from his end. And even if he does- that's not gonna be good enough for Johnny- he wants the retribution to come from his end...so it seems to me in Johnny's mind- if he can't whack Tony B- then only Chris is gonna be suitable enough retribution for him... But a TWO WEEK wait now??!!

Like I said- I really didn't notice anything overt because (in any walk of life) it's a normal daily topic of conversation around here. So as I said, I guess it's just a matter of someone's proximity and perspective... Eh, just seems to me that while they've made mention of Al Queda, it's only now, three years hence, that they showed real concern of terrorist capabilities. Seemed Johnny Come Lately to me. I think that concern should have been addressed last season. I mean, even one of the Slate guys, all New Yorkers and New Jersians, quipped that the day Tony begins patrolling the docks for Al Queda, he drops HBO. BTW, OverAyalyzeThis was Sopranoland. I'm still trying to figure out what her purpose is. Some think she's gonna pull an Irina. Wasn't the straw that broke the camel's back him flirting with Adrianna? I haven't seen S3, but I've read episode summaries. But that's the only thing I can think of. I mean, Richie should give him no agita, but he showed up. Meanwhile, Jackie should give him plenty, but no show. also goes without saying that Livia should figure prominantly in all these dreams, except that Nancy Marchand is dead. I think they should find a look alike for her for those, or at least do a shadow figure, but it is noticabley absent given still how prominantly his mother figures into his phyche. He's done a few tributes to mob movies in the past. Like Michael Imperioli got shot in the foot in Goodfellas, and then Christopher shot the guy in the foot in the bakery (the customer was actually later recast as Vito). Yeah, but then they have to bring in the New York office. All the folks we've seen were working on new Jersey, and I haven't seen them say anything on New York except as related to Tony. Yeah, but at the same time I doubt they'll want to leave off on a Seinfeldish note, where even the fans were like what the he*ll is this (No, I never watched it). And yeah, I have S 1&2, so I've seen all of Livia except for the first two episodes of S3. I do miss her. I think my favorite scene with her is riding the slide down the stairs with the cane on her lap. Seasons, on one hand they're setting up for a few more seasons of war between Jersey and New York, on the other, you have to figure that Tony's "career" is coming to a head. He can't run from Johnny, and there has to be a culling. And no way New Jersey can beat New York in a war. ____________________________________________ I actually bought the suicide part. I figured that Chris didn't want that life, when he saw the bum, but I always figured that he'd get in as much trouble as her, being that he's her "sponser" in the mob, especially given the trouble he's been causing, especially lately, and I really hope Tony isn't so dumb as to not see that he's been giving Chris reasons to talk to the Feds for awhile now. I figured Chris would see himself as getting in trouble with her, but not wanting to go away, so try to kill himself. But I think he was seriously considering flipping until he saw the family. Far as her being under contract next season, think she'll be back in a dream or flashback? But that speil on Matush was a riot. But I thought she was so concerned with the Middle East! That's what's causing all her stress! ;D But a lot of folks look at this one differently. Probably few people miss Richie or Ralphie, and even Pussy while beloved, was no innocent, although he was abig teddy bear. Adrianna, while not a squeeky clean innocent, she's the closest the show has, certainly out of those killed. I think a lot of folks will look at these guys differntly now. She wasn't even a real threat to them. But I guess if you talk... She sees that she has no choice, given that Tony's polluted all the lawyers. What's she gonna do? If she follows through, finding a lawyer Tony hasn't touched, she's gonna be left with nothing but a few measly possessions, an incomplete college education, holding skills pretty much at housekeeping. She tied her star to Tony's too firmly...not that Tony encouraged her to spread her wings. He squelched her real estate deals. He wouldn't let her do that because if she had, she could have done this a lot sooner, and would have stood a chance of being able to do it right. I think she's just gonna make the best of it. Little Carmine, doesn't surprise me. The only ones who had real respect for him were the guys in that room, and even then, I think they knew they could run Carmine like a puppet, whereas under Johnny they'd be subservient (Duhbya analogy? ). I never thought he had the stomach to go to war. I mean, it was started by Angelo with no knowledge by Carmine, and then Angelo wasn't even called for not informing him of it. Carmine didn't do a thing to secure his own power. I guess now if Carmine's smart, he'll go back to fixing wet T-shirt contests down south, because if I were Johnny, I wouldn't leave him alive to possibley rise again. Tony B I'm thinking might just go into hiding. Tony will make sure he doesn't come around again. Chris, I think he's scared of Johnny too, and that looks like a disguise in the preview. Looks like we're seeing a bloody finale. They also have to realize that they can't leave us hanging too much for a whole two years. yup, Memorial Day. Too many folks would be away. I think that they did it last season too, skipped Thanksgiving. But then we have to wait TWO YEARS!
