Wow...all this time Shooter's been a closet Soprano watcher??!! I found a lot of humor in the scene where Janice is poking through the garbage looking for her wedding ring...somehow very poetic. ;D But that one did throw me a little...seems they held the nuptuals between seasons- and looks like we weren't invited??

The one thing that's been bugging me since last sean is that cop Christopher shot. It's always said that cop killers are caught, hell or high water. Why wasn't this even addressed beyond the premeire? Even the Bevellaqua hit was addressed with that witness, and it looks like shooting that waiter is gonna give them some agita. but that one should have been the one that really gave them problems, whether or not he was dirty.

Well, certainly some interesting developments! That first guy they showed listening to the tapes...I know he's been in since the first season, but I never got his name...that should be an interesting thread! Did they show him being turned at all? I don't remember them covering that. Adrianna, Ireally think she's gonna crack. Think this'll earn her and Christopher bullets in the back of the head? And who was that guy Jack?
Next week, I'm guessing that the guy Feech beats up is just some local drug dealer, although we see that Junior goes oobatz. Next week looks like we get some real tension flowing. Although I really don't like the guy they picked to play Tony's cousin. Then again, I guess you wouldn't want a stereotypical wiseguy to play someone who was going straight.

Welp- in real life, cop killers aren't always caught. Could be a lot of reasons...First, the cop was 'retired' (he'd just gotten home from his retirement party) and not off duty or killed in the line of duty. And some cops tend to make a lot of enemies (drug dealers, the mob, gangs...) over the years. Since he was retired- that means he put in minimally 20 years...makes for a pretty long 'enemies' list to go through. The cop had killed Christopher's father something like 15 or so years earlier, so I think it would be unlikely the cops investigating his murder would make a connection...logic would have it the mob would've taken revenge for that one long ago and not out of the blue all these years later. So they're probably looking at his recent cases or people he put away that were recently released... Then it wasn't clear where the cop was now working and living...it appeared to me that it was a pretty good distance from their 'turf'- so they weren't 'known' in those parts- which also works in their favor. That's not to say it won't ever catch up to him...but sometimes the cops run into dead ends and cases are never solved and sometimes when they are solved- it may be years or decades later...

I don't remember them covering that. Raymond Curto...he's a Capo and has been wearing a wire since season 3- Chase just let that story kind of fall by the wayside. He flipped around the same time as Big Puss...think it was at the end of season 1 he got busted in the who*rehouse raid and because his kid's got MS he was afraid of doing time...kinda the same way the Feds pressured Puss into flipping. He's also the only one Tony admitted what became of the Big P to (don't remember if he was wearing a wire for that though). Oh yeah...and I'm also thinking that the guy delivering the mail to the offices is an informant for the mob...not sure whether it's Tony, Johnny or somebody else. He seemed to be 'lingering' around trying to pick up as much info as he could... Not sure if she's gonna crack or the female Fed's gonna go soft and show her a little compassion to relieve some of her 'stress.' Seems she didn't have a problem using her predicament to get rid of a certain bridesmaid. Massone...owned Massone Construction. He's been in a few episodes. Remember their real estate scheme in ripping off Fed housing, and the contstruction site where Tony's crew was being paid for 'no show' jobs?? Can't believe Tony didn't catch the hat!! Rogaine my a$$!! He's really messing up already!! (Also notice in the teaser the juror from Uncle Junior's trial they flush out is also wearing a hat?? ) Yep, looks like last week they set up the storyline for the domestic issues, and this week the storyline for the 'family' issues. I like Buscemi...he's weaselly- and like Ralphie looks to be one that's gonna piss off a lot of people. ;D

They may not always be caught, but it just bugs me that we didn't hear ANYTHING about it. Pretty much every other body has had some reprecussions later, this one, nada. Raymond Curturo, yup, I'm still saving up to buy season 3. Never saw any of that season, the only ones I haven't seen. Why doesn't he just go into the program, and testify what Tony did to Pussy? Even if they couldn't prosecute without it on tape, they'd at least talk about it amongst themselves at the FBI office. I noticed what Adrianna did to her "pal" the girls are definitely gonna have questions about what caused her to run off like that though. That can't go away. The hat, I thought that was a dead giveaway, and then in the club he can't tell! Geez! I don't ever remember that guy before, but the hat seemed out of place on any mobster. Didn't catch the juror though. Buscami, he's going to piss people off, but in a different way. Doesn't seem up to being Ralphie obnoxious, but he'll definitely creep people out, and they'd be uncomfortable with a civilian around anyway. I also think we'll see resentment fester over one going to jail while the other got to make a life for himself due to timing. Also, any other guy who wanted to do massages would be called gay by Tony. Also, what do you think of that series that's gonna follow sopranos next week, Deadwood? I think I'll watch that one too.

They may not always be caught, but it just bugs me that we didn't hear ANYTHING about it. Pretty much every other body has had some reprecussions later, this one, nada. Not really...there's been a lot of wacks that were done and never mentioned again. Depends on how things finally shake out at the end...if it ends where the Feds take them all down, it could come up later as one of the things they nail them on... No body, no witnesses, no proof...it's only hearsay from a source of questionable credibility. And 'cause it's the witness protection program...if there's no charges, there's no trial so there's no 'witness.' (Real life: Sammy the Bull was given the option of going into the program only after his testimony brought down Gotti). Everyone thinks that Puss & Ritchie went into 'the program' because they flipped causing Uncle Junior's indictments. Since Chase really didn't pursue the storyline much before this, the only thing we knew was that Curto turned snitch- but it was never clear what kind of info he was giving up. Puss was technically a rat, but he really didn't betray the family because he didn't give the Feds anything they could use- just a little minor petty stuff- so hard to say what the deal is with Curto yet...but the mailroom clerk is gonna make things interesting depending on who he's working for. She'd be able to cover that one easy enough...she could just claim it's the stress of Chris' trying to stay clean and second thoughts about the marriage considering the collapse of Carmella's and all the other wives complaining about 'the life.' But she knows if the 'boys' find out she's dead...and after Ro's speech to her about Puss being a traitor (notice she was gonna spill until she looked at Ro and that's when she freaked)- she realizes despite all their whining 'the girls' are really no different than 'the boys' and she can't trust them either. But realized during Ro's (apostle protection program ) speech- the girls aren't much brighter...hasn't it dawned on any of them why Puss would go into 'the program' and not take his family with him- knowing they'd be ostracized?? Yeah that was weird...he seemed more preoccupied with the remark that it looked like Tony had lost weight...but maybe because Pasty was in the room he played dumb- because he did give a signal to Chris after Chris asked Tony if he wanted him to take care of it...Somehow I really can't believe Tony was stupid enough to miss something that obvious. Yep, they already admitted the 'resentment factor' was gonna play a role...and not just between Tony & Cousin Tony but also between Tony & Feech. Nope he's not obnoxious in the Ralphie sense- but he's a wisecracking weasel and weasels are sneaky critters...He says he's goin' straight- but what he says and what he does may turn out to be 2 different things. He took the money from Feech- which by protocol should have been given by Tony...and it's something that Tony caught and wasn't too happy about. But geeze- since Feech gave him enough money to get back on his feet...you'd think he'd at least go buy a new suit and lose the lame Miami Vice era look!! Looks interesting...and I like westerns. I'll probably give it a shot and see what happens- I never got into most of their other series...but then I'm not a 'TV' kind of person- it's rare when I even turn the thing on.

Well, got to watch it tonight, good episode. Somehow, I don't think Feech is gonna make the season finale. Stepping on WAY too many toes. Wondering about Johnny too. Little Carmine is too close to Ralph-being a hated prick-to make him a front line character, so I think Johnny is gonna come out on top. Lorraine, who knows with her. She seems rather unpopular all around (maybe make more offers? ), but I don't think they'd kill her AND Feech. They're the new blood to keep it interesting, and it won't do to lose them both. My money's on Feech. Crazy Corrodo, what do you think with him. Think maybe they're aiming to be rid of him sometime next season? Definitely looking at a lower profile for him now that he's oobatz. Wouldn't they have killed him in the old days? Bobby...poor guy .

Singer Frankie Valli to Join Hit Men on This Week's Episode of 'The Sopranos'
The Associated Press
March 25 — For the better part of two decades, Frankie Valli rode the pop charts as a hitmaker with such songs as "Sherry," "Walk Like a Man," "Rag Doll" and the theme song from "Grease." Now, he's joining another brand of hitmakers as a bad guy on "The Sopranos," hanging out with mob types similar to some he grew up with.
"Coming from Newark, N.J., I've certainly been around a lot of that," Valli said by phone from his home in Southern California. "Growing up pursuing a singing career, all the little bars and clubs were the places where these guys would congregate. In a lot of cases they owned them.
"I never got to know exactly what each guy was doing, but I did know several guys. I mean, they didn't call me in and say, `Hey, this is what we're doing this week,' ya know. There are probably a couple of them in my character."
Some "Sopranos" characters are so authentic "I think back to being a kid and these guys," he said.
"There's a lot of familiar-looking people in `The Sopranos.'"
Joining the cast of HBO's "The Sopranos," now in it fifth season, fulfills a dream for Valli that began four years ago when he first read for the show's creator, David Chase.
"After seeing the show a few times, I really wanted to do it," he said. "I just loved the way David Chase was writing it. He seemed to be pleased with my reading, but at the time he didn't feel as though the part I was reading for was right for me, but said he would look for the right thing for me.
"In most cases, that's a nice way of making you not feel bad about not getting cast. But David is a man of his word."
Valli first appears in the series Sunday, and will be in three more episodes, barring changes. (It airs 9 p.m. EST.)
While the shooting has wrapped up for this season, Valli said nothing is certain on the set of "The Sopranos."
"If they want to insert anything, they may give you a call. They're constantly critiquing. David Chase is a meticulous writer."
Valli plays a captain in the New York faction of the mob, in the family of Carmine Lupertazzi, who has just beat the mob odds by dying a natural death. Valli is allied with the stroke victim's son, Little Carmine (Ray Abruzzo).
Valli said it seems that his character will survive to a sixth season, but added: "You just never know."
Should Valli the actor be grimly reaped, Valli the singer has a project in the works a jazz album.
"It's the thing I always wanted to do," he said. "I never thought in a million years that I would end up doing pop music. It wasn't anything that I really wanted to do. I kind of grew up at the tail end of the big band era. I have grown to like pop."
He also is reviving the Four Seasons with only Valli, his trademark falsetto and his music director remaining from the original group that was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. Most of its hits came in the '60s and '70s.
"I stopped for a while. It had come to the point where I thought I'd had enough. I found out that I hadn't quite really had enough. I just decided I'm going to be on the road less. There are other things that I want to do.
"I'm at a point in my life where I've had a lot of hits. It's not so much that I'm sitting here at this time in my life with stars in my eyes hoping that I have another No. 1 record. I've had my share of No. 1 records. I really want to do things that I really want to do. I have enough on my plate as it is."
Along with music and acting, Valli, 66, has three sons twin 9-year-olds and a 16-year-old "to stay on top of."
"I like being home and doing location work," he said. "That was another really wonderful thing about doing 'The Sopranos.' You didn't have to travel every day."
His previous sporadic acting stints have included 1998's "Witness to the Mob" starring Nicholas Turturro and Tom Sizemore, Robby Benson's "Modern Love" in 1990 and the 1978 feature "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."
"I certainly want to do more acting if I have any opportunities to do it," he said. "I want to do roles that are challenging. It's a creative part of me that really has to be a little bit more active."

Checking in on this one a little late...Yep good episode. Missed the first 5 minutes but looks like all I missed was Lawn Man getting busted up. You know I'm thinking Roughneck- you might be at a disadvantage here missing the 3rd season...seems that's the point from where he's picking up a lot of the storyline...starting to tie up some of those loose ends. I really don't expect Feech to be going anywhere...the storyline's headed towards 'old school' vs. the 'new school' guys. The character of Feech was introduced in season 3...not shown on screen but referred to. The Excecutive Game played a big part in that season on a few levels (I'd explain- but don't wanna screw it up for you since you haven't had a chance to see it yet)...and the Executive Game's coming back into play this season. Lorraine...she's the one I wouldn't count on seeing around too much longer. There's a lot of 'guest stars' on tap for this season for varying lengths of time...There's a lot of 'spoilers' out there- but I won't mention them- but episode 5 should prove very interesting. Uncle Junior...if Chase was going to get rid of him- I figure then why'd he have him beat the cancer?? I think he's got Junior going 'oobatz' maybe as a reason for some flashback scenes (there was a lot of that in season 3 with Tony flashing back to scenes with his father) to reinforce the battle of the 'old school.' They've got him under a doctor's care and on meds...the meds may eventually work and make him better. Paulie ain't exactly gettin' on anyone's good side either!! But geeze- they can't get rid of Paulie- he's the comic relief!! ;D Trailer 4 on HBO's site has a quick shot of Carmela all decked out in black standing next to Barbara at what looks like a cemetary...Now why would Barbara be there unless it was a funeral for a family member?? Maybe Janice finally pushes Bobby too far and he offs her?? ;D The other interesting thing...they re-cast Bobby's daughter...and Barbara!! And they have Barbara acting differently than she's been shown in past seasons...Previously she kept major distance between her and the rest of the family- and only showed up when it was unavoidable (funerals & weddings)...No way she'd show up at family dinners- and she wouldn't have spoken to Uncle Junior the way she did in the last episode...

I thought it looked like curtains for Jun too but good point Red. It would've been easier to make the cancer terminal or make it come back. They can't cap Paulie! I don't think I could watch it without him.

Well this was definitely a good episode. Let's see, lorraine...when she wasn't given a character bio on the website, I figured you were probably right, although I'm betting you saw a spoiler. I just didn't expect her to go so soon. Feech, he has one, so he's not going anywhere. I think not wacking Feech is gonna come back to haunt Tony in a big way. He knows what was done, and won't forget it. I think he'll hook up with Little Carmine and take over NY, or get in a power struggle with Johnny. AJ going with Tony...weird. But then, I can't blame Carmella. I'da put that kid through a wall. Wondering about the brains that the teacher has or doesn't have. Melfi...she's been gone for two episodes, and then this...what was the point?

Yep snizz...I'm definitely with ya on Paulie. Thought it was a little slower than last week- but glad they've upped the humor to what it was the first season...Cleaning out the parking lot at the wedding was too funny!! And yep- I didn't expect Lorraine to get whacked this week- thought maybe another couple weeks...Nope haven't seen any spoilers- but visit a board that discusses them. People who live around here kind of have a slight upper hand and we get to see some of the shooting (no pun intended ). Though cast & crew's sworn to secrecy- we talk about scenes that we've seen being shot and try to put them together to see if we can figure where things might be going. Yep- I agree on Feech...just by the shots on the bus back to prison- you know he's gonna be gunning hard for revenge on Tony...I figure through Johnny. Tony was right about AJ...just typical teenage stuff. Don't know where Chase is going with Carmella- but he thought she was becoming too much of a whiner married to Tony and wanted her character to be stronger...but he's making her more of a wuss than she was. And teacher or counselor or whatever he is...total wimp and he's gonna be the love interest?? Wonder what's up with her walking into a totally (and literally) empty house?? With Melfi- he's just keeping the storyline going...Tony hasn't given up on her (think the 'unattainable' thing is a turn on for him)- and she's got that love/hate thing for him.
