What's their latest slogan? Those things are the most canned things I've ever seen. I watched one with the Cheneys, and Lynne Cheney actually had the nerve to open it saying "I love these things, they're always so unpredictable!" I think it was the Washington Post that contrasted the two VP candidates, and Cheney has been seen getting hand sanitizer afterwards. He hates campaigning! All campaign stops are orchestrated, but bush just makes it obvious, and some have stated that there's an enthusiasm that was lacking in Dad's campaign...well duh, if you vet everyone there! Some "questions" were canned praise. One said for the first time I think God is in the white House.

I just read an article in the paper today about the town hall meetings he's been holding that described essentially the same scene. The people allowed in were carefully screened so that the "audience" was made up entirely of Bush supporters only and that all the questions and answers were prescripted. This is not campaigning, this is hiding! It proves to me that this man is nothing but a phoney, hardly the strong and decisive leader he claims to be. If he doesn't even have the guts to publically face the equal number of American people who oppose him, we're supposed to believe that he has the guts to face our real enemies? YEP- you hit that one right on the old nailhead!! He walks around like this real tough bully- but he doesn't even have the guts to face the American people who disagree with him. WUSS!! He pulled the same thing here...he showed up at a factory and spoke before a carefully screened audience that were given flags to wave...Only thing is the people he spoke to either didn't or barely spoke English and weren't citizens and are unable to vote- so they just smiled and cheered on cue not having any idea what he was even saying!! Oh...and the protesters that showed up? They were kept a block away and out of his view... The only butt he's interested in saving is his own...at the convention there's gonna be two stages set up- one for everybody else...and a special bullet and bomb proof one just for him!!

One guy in West Virginia actually did manage to get in. He got a ticket from a client at work or something. He then began asking questions about jobs and Iraq. He was shouted down, moved to the back, and threatened with arrest by a Bush volunteer! The next day he was fired for embarasing the client! And this guy is interested in hearing the people...you know, I didn't like Clinton back in his days, but right after the impeachment trial was over, the repoters began asking questions, questions he shouldn't hav had to answer. I don't remember anyone being dragged out of there.

You're so dead on straight about Chicken Little. Can we spell paranoid? And larfed me ass off at his personal bullet, bomb proof stage! But you left out the best part out of the factory photo op story! You forgot to say that he did two photo ops that day, the factory and then the last minute appearance at the groundbreaking ceremony of a local 9-11 memorial that was on his way to the real reason he was here-- another fundraiser. Since the groundbreaking took place while Congress was in session and all our state reps were in DC, he offered to give them a lift back here with him on Air Force One. On the condition that they all, including the Democrats, attended his $2000 a plate fundraiser! Take a wild guess on how many Democrats took him up on his generous offer?

Got a link? Hey, wasn't EICHMAN kept behind bulletproof glass and all? Took a few minutes- it was back a few more days than I thought... W's Super & Secret Platform BY MAGGIE HABERMAN DAILY NEWS CITY HALL BUREAU When President Bush accepts the Republican nomination in two weeks, he will enter Madison Square Garden on a specially made blast- and bullet-proof stage, the Daily News has learned. The platform is being constructed off-site from the Garden, sources said. "It's a whole different" stage from the one that will be used during the other hours of the Republican National Convention, which runs from Aug. 30 through Sept. 2, the night Bush arrives, said one source. The ultra-secure Bush stage is expected to arrive at the Garden the day before Bush speaks, sources told The News. Leonardo Alcivar, a spokesman for the convention, declined comment. The type of onstage entrance that Bush will make has been a well-guarded secret throughout the convention planning. Officials have refused to say if it will be a conventional platform or something else, but some organizers have said a "theater-in-the-round" approach is likely. Since the GOP took control of MSG in mid-July, workers have been constructing a new floor for the arena, raised above the actual floor by about 9 feet, with a hole in it that could allow for a dramatic entrance. Oh my God this is unbelievable! His arrogance and sense of self-importance knows no bounds! And there are people who are questioning Kerry's character?

I noticed that the applause for Rudy could be described as lukewarm at the very best! Compare that to the roaring applause that greeted Kerry and just about every other speaker.
