Yes Snizz title box is one of those high tech terms, It's a box around a title, I just made it up last night. Um...TM darling- I think everyone knows what a 'titl e' box is...'titl a' box on the other hand is a tricky one. ;D I believe you're the victim of some razzing by the old snizzster ;D ...Now that there's a spellchecker...it might behoove some of us to use it!! ;D Seriously though TM...good job!! After I got up to page 20 about all the bugs and glitches in this update...I got freaked and I'm NOT touching anything!! Just after seeing how many admins wound up locked out of their own forums because of key code glitches- I was even afraid to log out!! So far so good on that front...but if anybody's gonna inadvertently blow up the forum because of this update...I'd much rather it be you... Anyway- for once ;D I understand what SB's saying...the problem isn't finding your profile...the trick is finding how to access your profile to make changes. Before this update- when you clicked on your profile- it brought you directly into the page where you could make changes...Now when you click on it- it just brings up your profile and you can't make any changes on that page. It took me a half hour to figure it out ...I was seeing the same thing I always previously saw when pulling up someone's profile- with the innocuous 'modify' link (not even a 'button') at the top (which only we admins could access to make members moderators, etc.- and I'm not sure that button was visible to regular members)...so I just assumed it was still there for the same purpose. After finally clicking on it- out of frustration at trying to find out how to now access your profile to make changes...that's when (by 'accident'!!) I found out that's how it's now done. ...So yeah, being that's it's not prominently marked (and we weren't issued a handbook on the changes - we're ALL winging it here )- and I can definitely see how people would easily miss it. I use Opera also. Less prone to hacker problems, not widely used yet. But TM...surely you're not saying you're normal ?? Why does Red keep you around anyway? I've read studies that show people who have pets live longer, happier lives... ;D

Yeah, the way they did that was assanine. I don't care one way or another about the "most users online" thing, but the bugs are bugging me. And that style of quoting, you can go in and manually arrange that you only quote the post you are quoting, but that's just a pain. Pain ain't the word for it!! Can you imagine how much time doing it manually is gonna take after a half dozen 'quote' replies??!! Also noticed...when 'quote' replying, it picks up smilies- but not code (ie: bold, italics, etc.) Yep...my thoughts too. That crapola would appeal to kids...but the irony is- anyone under 16 ain't allowed to be here without 'parental consent'- and anyone 12 and under ain't allowed to be here under any circumstances... I totally agree!! Yeah, the last update wasn't without glitches (some admin functions never worked- or worked right...and the 'last 10 posts' would pull up random posts instead of the actual last 10...) but they were fixable things- if they wanted to fix them. There's a few good additions- like the spellchecker...but they could've just added them without re-doing everything. The rest of it's just useless junk that's glitching up everything else that wasn't broke in the first place. Aware of that...we have to reset all that. I'm still searching for where they moved all that to...maybe TM will find it first...But hang in- we're working on it.

No mod functions for us mods either. Roughneack I reset some powers. I will start athread called test, I will have people post there and see if you call lock it or delete it. When I know this much works I'll finish setting powers.

Also just noticed, no previous thread next thread buttons, which means we have to click to go back out to the forum if there are multiple new posts to a particular board. Also, I noticed that I can't log in anonomously, a feature that was supposed to be implemented, which I assume is because as far as the server is concerned, none of us are mods.

There's so much stuff screwed up As far as the anonymous thing though...how's this for totally STUPID?? Yeah, the feature's there alright...but you have to go into your profile to set it!! That means you have to login 'visible', then go into your profile to change it to 'invisible'...and unless you want to remain permanently 'invisible'- you'll have to go back into your profile and reset it either before you log out or after the next time you login!! Like how lamebrained is that?? People are gonna see you login- and then suddenly become 'invisible'...so exactly what's the point then?? People are gonna know who's on whether they're 'visible' or 'invisible. On V3 admins had that option- but it was right on the login screen so when we logged in we were immediately 'invisible' and it automatically reset to 'visible' when we logged out, so everytime we came to the forum, we had the choice of logging in either way...

Wait a minute...so, if I log out while in invisible mode, then I can never show as visible again, or can I go back at a later time and become visible again?

No I meant you're permanently invisible until you go back into your profile to change it back to visible. (Sorry ) So yeah, if you log out as 'invisible' when you log back in you'll be 'invisible.' If you want to go back to being 'visible,' then you have to go back into your profile and change it back...Same as if you want to change sigs or avatars or whatever. It's pretty stupid you have to go into your profile to do it...it should be on the login screen like it used to be.

I know TM had some problems too...The only problem I had was the 'too many connections' message. Took some doing, but I finally found a way around that one. Glad you made it back though!!

It wasn't there a few minutes ago!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY CRAP!! Nope snizz that wasn't there a few minutes ago!! I have no idea...and just checked admin. There's no seperate setting to disable it- so looks like the only way to get rid of it's by getting rid of the whole info center... Thoughts anyone?? Just leave it be or get rid of the info center altogether?

Okay, I'm here, I jumped through the hoops, and since I never really used the far-out functions on the last version of this board, I suspect that I'm okay. If I'm not okay, someone please tell me who I should sue. ;D Seriously, are these sporadic updates meant to whittle down those of us who are attempting to remain loyal?

Well, I'm assuming birthday boxes only appear for those of us who put our birthdays on the calander. I put mine up lo those many years ago, but yours isn't there, nor many others, so you shouldn't have to worry.

If I'm not okay, someone please tell me who I should sue. ;D Seriously, are these sporadic updates meant to whittle down those of us who are attempting to remain loyal? Up late Shooter?? ;D Sadly I think they are trying to drive us off... For basic use...the 'quote' reply now picks up all the 'quote' replies to the original post- so unless you want boxes inside boxes, you'll have to manually delete all the excess... There's been reports that there's sporadic problems with the 'modify' function... Spellchecker's hit or miss... No button at the bottom of the screen to return to the main board page...you have to scroll all the way to the top to get out of the thread after posting. Tags & smilies don't work with some browsers... Many reports of login problems... Threads/posts mysteriously disappearing or getting scrambled (though that hasn't happened here yet <knock wood> ) Most of it has to do with coding though Shooter- they put out V4 and it's incompatable with coding used for V3...and unfortunately that's greatly affecting routine board maintence (as well as the above mentioned functions)...or in other words, the stuff that keeps us up and running.
