Well, now, I resemble that remark about music getting "mushy" or even weak after getting whipped... er, I mean, married. ;D ;D ;D I don't think it did anything to such long-time married luminaries as Waylon & Jessi or Johnny & June (or even Loretta & Doo) -- and for more recent couples, any troubles with Charlie's musica since Emily came banjoin' along? Nah, it's all in your head. McGraw never did do anything worthwhile, it just got worse because Lord, he had to prove it really could, it really could; and Clint REALLY started to go downhill after he lost his first contract and all that financial trouble hit. I mean, really, George and Tammy got married how many times, and their music was always fine.

Not a lot today! I've got a stack of new CDs knee-deep (from a trip to the used store AND from TCB! ) and haven't had a chance to do more than slip in a couple and listen on the run. "Brewed in Texas," Waylon's "Early Years," and I'm eagerly looking toward my little clump of Marty Stuart I just got myself. I even picked up a Ken Mellons on the recommendations of this here list, so I have to hear that one, too. It's just bliss to have more music than one can listen to! Roughneck, I'm glad you liked the sounds of Michael Thomason! I can't decide which of the two CDs I like better.

Well, this morning I have on CMT, so "Greatest Hits," which has been okay so far, just waiting for the Opry to come on. Heard it was a good'un last night. I plan on finally hearing Jim Lauderdale's Other Sessions this weekend, though.

Clint REALLY started to go downhill after he lost his first contract and all that financial trouble hit. What contract change? He's [glow=red,2,300]always[/glow] been with RCA as far as I know. I do know he had legal troubles with his first management team (as many "overnight successes" do). ;D Today finds me listening to

I assure you, Sis, sheer coincidence -- personally, I think it's timing of the "M" word combined with the pressure from the labels, radio stations, and the rest of the hoopla. My bet is it wouldn't have gotten so bad so fast if not for extenuating circumstances, "M" word notwithstanding. ;D CLM, that's what I was talking about, the management team, not his label. I'm assuming there were contracts -- there always are. In any case, the two years between "Put Yourself In My Shoes" and "The Hard Way" shows in more than just him getting married! Today's music... today I got the courage up and for the first time in over a year I put in my Loretta Lynn box set. I only cried during "Hey Loretta." But I did okay, and it was good to hear her again. But I tell ya, TCB, Merle sounds like a good bet for tomorrow.

My very own dear parents have been hopelessly in love for 45 years now... and my grandparents made it to 72 years... Besides- you're even one step ahead of them...at least you haven't tried "M"ing me off!! Lol!! ;D ;D ;D
