Just got Clint's Put Yourself in My Shoes the other day, finally had a chance to pop it in. Great stuff. I'd almost forgot that there used to be good music from folks besides Alan in the 90's. Boy were those were the days...don't remember ever turning off the radio- because I HAD to for fear of becoming ill... There was just so much really GOOD music out back then...and they actually played it on the radio. <Sigh> Anyway, listened to Brian Burns' Angels & Outlaws, and Mark David Manders' Chili Pepper Sunset.

Ahh yes....pre-marriage Clint was pretty darn good. I haven't bought any of his CD's since he married -- it just didn't seem to be the same -- listened to Brewed in Texas (over and over and over and over) I think this Texas music month at TCB as led me wayyyyyyyyy off the garden path (that's a good thing) Signing off for a few days.... 4 days + no kids = heaven! See ya when I get back

Ah yes, how many artists do we know made better music before marriage? I guess we can count on Little Sister's wisdom here! She was right all along! ;D

The rockin' side went way down, and the ballad side went way up, after he got married...don't think his music suffered though- it's still good. Just like the "outlaw" Travis better. But marriage does seems to make most of them, maybe not always necessarily worse, but "soft" at the least...for some reason, brings out their "mushy side". At the moment, listening to Steve Earle's Sidetracks. 8)

Recently discovered a fellow called Michael Thomason. I recommend him HIGHLY -- he and his band have been struggling here in the States, but Germany loves 'em (naturally, eh?). Go take a listen! www.michaelthomason.com

A great deal of SRV, Neil Young and Channel 950 on Dish. I heard a track of Reckless Kelly - I Still Do - from the Millican CD on this CD station. I can't say enough good things about this station. I love the Blues CD station too. ;D

I was listening to "Caught in the Webb" today, and a little bit of "today's" stuff -- particularly, AJ's "Drive." That song was just this side of starting to be overplayed, and then I caught the video, and I'm back in love with it again. Y'see, no one was allowed to drive MY Daddy's car -- in fact, few people were even allowed to RIDE in it. But one time, he let me drive... and I think of that every time I hear the song. And it's one of the best videos I've seen in a while. AJ's on a roll, and no mistake! But I have so much for my listening pleasure I don't know where to start. TCB sent me a package STUFFED with good stuff (which arrived today), and on Saturday I carried a bunch of "one-hit" CDs to the used place (after having burned the single tracks off 'em) and traded them in on a brand-new armful of good stuff. I'm going to be busy for a while!
