I'll pray for her tonight. What a wonderful person and a great talent. Get well, June.

I was so hoping that 'no news was good news,' since it'd been a few days since the announcement, and thought just maybe she was gonna pull through. Very, very sad news...

I just heard the news, they played "Jackson" on my way in to work. I wish I'd checked the news last night. What a dark day! June was like a foundation -- Always there, always important, sometimes overshadowed, but never forgotten. How long can Johnny keep on without her? All my worrying about Johnny, I never realized how sick June had gotten... then all of a sudden the foundation's gone.

Think that's what makes it such a stunning loss SAM- she was here not too long ago, and seemed to be in good health- so this was all very unexpected, at least to the public. If she was that ill, it was well hidden from the public eye & kept within the family. I was thinking the same thing about Johnny, I just didn't want to be the one to say it- but yeah, I think now she's gone, he won't be very far behind.

This was sad news. It is as though the very core of our Country Music foundation is being torn away day by day. So sad.

Listening to Far Banks of the River Jordan from June's last album brings sadness and comfort. She was something else for sure -- a lady and a legend and the best part was she never 'knew' just how great she was -- June Carter was in private what she was in public -- not too often you can say that about someone in the limelight.
She had the tracks down for another album but it has not been released.
