Has anyone checked out Hank III's site lately? There are alot of pictures of him over there in the cussin' board. He's all tattooed-up. And the little message on his guitar...too cool! I'm glad he is touring again because the articles written about him are hilarious. That Williams' attitude!! ;D I read too, that he has a new album coming out but, I saw no mention of whether it is country or the punk rock. I could stand some more of his cryin' in my beer country. I like Hank III.

Supposedly Alice, he's got one of each in the can...and that's where they've been for the last two years- at least. And that's about how long he's been saying 'they're coming out soon'... I quit holdin' my breath waitin' on that about a year ago.

LittleSister - I've been reading all of the articles that are on the net about Hank III. The articles are so refreshing and hiliarious. You know Hank III, he always has plenty to say about Trashville. I read in one of the articles that he wants to get Jimmy Martin inducted into the Grand Ole Opry before the man dies. Hank III said he had to file bankruptcy to get out of the Curb contract. According to several of the articles, he is trying to get out the two albums on his own.
[March 04, 2005]
Dates for March and April are being confirmed, and posted to the Tour section as they come in.
Hank is still working at editing the new album, and recently had this to say about it: "It's basically done: 14 songs, two CDs, and a 42-minute hidden track on it, with maybe seven or eight extra songs of just me and acoustic guitar. We're either gonna call it "Thrown Out of the Bar" or "Not Everybody Likes Us". It was recorded it on a Korg D1600 portable recording studio. Those kinds of machines are putting the labels out of business, in a way, as far as engineers and recording people. Took us two months for the whole process to be done. Pretty grueling, but I guarantee you no one else on Music Row has recorded this way before."

You know, the kid's definitely got talent- no question there- and pretty much everyone knows where he's coming from as far as major labels and mainstrean music and 'Trashville' and all that...But he hangs around up here a lot and fairly frequently does random gigs or drops by somewhere unannounced and with just a guitar, just starts playing. The problem is- while a whole lot of people agree with his viewpoint- he has some deep rooted issues (that go way beyond just the music industry) and a destructive habit of biting the hands of people who are really trying to help him. He's his own worst enemy- and from what I've observed- if he doesn't get a grip on it, he's following in his granddaddy's footsteps...straight down that lost highway.

I agree LittleSister. I have made the same observation - he is his own worst enemy...a common trait among people who share his perspective about life.
