Yep...you two keep talking ;D ...you're doing one heck of a job of selling us single folk on that 'marriage' thing. And gee...I was just reading an article that mentioned 'slavery and it's first cousin- marriage' LS, I'm very shocked! You mean you're not married? How could that be? I find it hard to believe such a bright, funny and charming woman could possibly still be single! I have to assume by your comments about "slavery" and "marriage" it must be by choice and you're not much of a fan of the age old institution? You've made some excellent arguments in this topic. When we first started, I thought I finally had you pegged as being in the law profession in some capacity, but the further we got into it, the more disdain you showed for it. So I guess now it's back to the drawing board for me.

Surely you must have me confused with someone else Roland!! I'm the cynical, sarcastic, bit*hy one. ;D Nope not married...and not interested. So far nobody's been able to provide me with a single convincing argument that there's any benefit to marriage over singledom... Lol!! Well to be completely honest- if they don't purge their system- I may have a half dozen or so transferred credits still floating around Fordham somewhere.

Boy, you know it Sis. Gettin some nice stories from other boards on the wonderful things brought by husbands, wives, boyfriends, and girlfriends. Tell me again why I want a girlfriend? ;D Well now, Roughneck, there was a time I felt the same way. But then I found my better half. Now, this will sound insanely corny and sickly sweet stuff (so if you feel the need, STOP READING HERE), but I have to admit that my wife (and I quote) "completes me." ;D Let the "rolleyes" patrol have it's day.

Hey come on dude...I tried my best at savin' Shooter - don't you fall for it too!! ;D Hey LS, I guess your safety net had a few holes in it. ;D 'Course, I do have to give you SOME credit. You were there when I most needed a boot in the a** and a slap in the face.

How about those adjectives being thrown at you, LS? I just knew you'd be on the floor. ;D Good job out of you Roland! ;D ;D LS, I distinctly recall hearing your name mentioned in very hushed tones during my tenure at Fordham. ;D

I know my tenure here hasn't been very long, but since being here, those are my honest observations. You are bright, I've very much enjoyed the lively and intelligent conversation. You are funny, I find your wit and sense of humor very entertaining, although I will concede a bit on that point though. It does lean towards the sarcastic side. You are charming, you made me feel very welcome and comfortable here, beginning with my first post. It all seems too natural to be a brilliant disguise. As for your self-description, it adds a touch of spice and there's nothing wrong with a little of that. ;D Yes I've seen some of that in your posts, but in a good natured kind of way, although I have also noticed for some reason, it's usually tossed in Mr. Shooter's direction. You both give a whole new meaning to the term "friendly fire." So you're anti-marriage? Maybe you just haven't found your Mr. Right yet? I suppose there's a good argument for both sides, but what about children? Or knowing you'll always have a date for New Year's Eve and Valentines Day? Then I take it you started pursuing a career in law? What made you change you mind?

I'll start worrying as soon as my wife attempts to mow me down with her Suburban...or pulls a Howard Dean when her utensils are out of proper alignment. ;D Trust me. Mr. Dean has nothing over the wife who finds the glasses were put away in the cupboard with water spots on them.

Then I take it you started pursuing a career in law? What made you change you mind? Poor Roland!! You really don't wanna know what you stepped in. ;D Thanks for the compliments...but guess you really haven't been around long enough ...a little more time an you'll see I'm a little heavier on my self-descriptive side. ;D Friendly Fire!! You're rollin' along pretty good yourself there. Ah, far as Shooter...ours is a 'unique' relationship ;D Friendly fire summed it up well. (Not to mention he's such an easy mark...just too hard to resist that one). ;D Mr. Right?? Ain't no such thing- besides...variety is the spice of life. ;D Marriage?? ...not quite the maternal type, so since there'd be no kids involved...marriage is but a piece of paper that holds no quarantees- and plenty of headaches... Yeah...law was the first career choice. What changed my mind?? Ever see that movie Changing Lanes?? A year interning with a law firm that was pretty close to what the one Ben Affleck worked for was like- not only changed my mind, but made me extremely ill... Up a little late- no??

Lord, what have I gotten myself into? This was all so very unintentional! LS, I'm getting the distinct impression there's not a man alive that could begin to match you! ;D And by everyone else's reaction, I'm now going to quietly and quickly walk away and leave the entire topic of marriage alone. For my own well being. I thought there had to be something there in your background. Yes I've seen that movie, so yes I can understand your decision. It's a real pity though. I think you'd have made a very fine litigator. Yes, I'm up late. Summer school ended last week, so now I have two weeks free until I have to start all over again.

Roland, I thought you were smarter than THAT! ;D Try this one on for size....hell hath no fury like a woman whose husband decides to throw a "gift of a lifetime" cashmere sweater in the washing machine.

LOL...not to worry Roland- you're still learnin' the ropes so you're still entitled to be cut a little slack yet. ;D I love men...rally I do ;D That might be the problem...kinda like with ice cream- one day I'm in the mood for Banana Fudge and another for Black Raspberry...couldn't live on a steady diet of just one flavor though. A fine litigator?? Nah...two reasons. I could never handle the Puritanical courtroom dress code...and I'd never be caught dead in a pair of those goofy golf shoes. So schools finally out for ya... Enjoy your well earned- though abrieviated- summer vacation.
