As a Catholic, I mourn the loss of my spiritual leader. As a human being, I mourn the loss of perhaps the most important world leader of the last half century. At last, he is now home with God.

Great man. Disagreed with a lot of what he said, but a great man who believed what he said. Funny thing is that it seemed to be an almost non-event at school. Everywhere else you heard people talking about it, and the flags at half staff, and it was all over the news and in the papers, but at school it was like "oh yeah, the Pope died...we'll have something for him a week afterwards. A woman who comes into the coffeeshop where I work went to Fordham, and I told her about it, she said the Catholics were in denial. They didn't want to believe he was dead, so they just ignore it and hope he wasn't.
