She us by far the most underrated of the Lilith Faith singers. Next to her, even Sara McLachlan would pale. Thanks to the mainstream, I just barely found out about her new album last week, and I got it on Saturday. Amazing. Gritty, painful, powerful and emotional and everything wonderful music can be.

Agreed, wiskeyandprayer. I first heard Beth's music on a local AC station here in the metro NYC area. Thought she had the voice and the lyrics of raw emotion, a quality wholly lacking today's in mainstream AC music. She's overlooked and underappreciated, although I understand she has a large contingent of grassroots admirers.

I am glad that you have found her album. She is a true treasure. Do you have any of her earlier work?

Not sure there's anything available, although you'd do well to check online (ebay and what not). Yes, Beth is one of those one-of-a-kind artists. Her rough-edged sound is rooted in the past (i.e., Joplin and Etheridge), but her lyrics are quite modern and cutting (not cutting edge, but incisive).

Screaming for My Supper is amazing,, her sophomore album, is amazing. "LA Song" feels like it belongs between "Leave The Light On" and "Lifetime" as a triology. You can order her whole back catelog off of Amazon.
