I like country folk gritty stuff. Any new stuff like that out there?

Hmmm...not too much out there that's totally acoustic blues these days. You might give Richard Johnston's "Foothill Stomp" a try. www.richardjohnston.com You can hear the cuts off the album there. Jorma Kaukonen's "Blue Country Heart" is excellent- it's that old timey 'depression era' sound. I'm really fond of Ruthie Foster's "Runaway Soul." There's James Low's "Blackheart," not stictly accoustic, he mixes in some plugged in stuff, but it's not hardcore "electric" blues...and it's definitely country blues. Teddy Morgan's really good, very gritty, though he's not acoustic, more Texas style blues...but a bit more laid back, not as harcore as most, and mixes in a lot of country. Otis Taylor and Keb' Mo' do acoustic blues...the Delta sound, and are two of my personal favorites.
