Red I have faith you wouldn't let the snizzster lose $100! You need beauty sleep? You? Never! How's that for kissing up? ;D I think I'll snoop around here for a while so I'll see you later.

Never say die T. Heh heh. Didn't think you'd give him an inch. ;D I'll be there. Wild horses couldn't keep me away this time and wouldn't miss this one for the world. And it doesn't hurt I've got the weekend off. Par-tay! ;D I musta got lost! I really got to get rid of this piece of dinosaur crap. I may not win snizz but you've got that right. And we did get her to come around a little.

LOL...yep 'colorful'- that's us ;D ...hope that doesn't scare ya away. Staying on topic is against our religion...and I like MBs to talk about stuff on- but I hate being serious...least all the time. Follow the yellow brick road. I don't know if it's a good thing, a bad thing or a stupid thing, but no I don't get scared off too easily and I'm getting a kick out of the scenic route. Life's too short and it's cool to find people who like to have a little fun. Blues AND Python fans, what more could a guy hope for? All I ask is you take pity on the newbie while I catch up (and catch my breath) and get the hang of using this board. Smack me down if I'm getting too personal but by nature I'm one of those curious types (yes I know a bad trait) and reading this topic's got my curiosity up. I think I've caught up as far as guessing you know each other in the flesh? Looking at some of the sigs do you have a band or are you connected to one in some way? I've been a little luckier and have come across a few people who know Tommy Johnson but most of them never made the connection they were related. What do you think of CTK? Patton, it doesn't get much better than that. Which set did you get? No I didn't know Otis had a new album coming out already, thank you much for that tip. Have you heard of a guy named D.B. Walker? If not and you like Corey and Otis you'd probably like him too. Since you're a big SRV fan, how about Nuno Mindelis?

Look Auntie Em...the dude's got a sense of humor!! ;D ;D Then definitely goes without saying...we'll show pity. (Well- a little bit anyway. ) www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/fighting/fighting25.gif [/img] Never hurts to ask... ;D ;D Seriously though- only a couple of us do...other than that everyone else is 'online' friends. The snizzster's related to one- but his main title is Roadie Extaordinaire... I used to...but that 'over the hill' thing now though. Southbound...he's unimportant. (Not really - he's still in one...and we used to be in the same one together...for what seemed like an eternity. ) I like Chris...a lot of people think he pushes the envelope too far- but I like it...he mixes in some urban beats but always keeps the blues edge & roots front and center. Got the Patton JSP set...I thought it was the better one and at a fraction of the price. DB Walker I'm not familiar with...couldn't turn anything up for him on any music sites. Got any info on him?? Nuno- yeah!! Brazillian blues...who'd a thunk?? ;D Reminds me a lot of Mato Nanjy...you familiar with Indigenous?? How about Albert Cummings?? He's become one of my latest favs...Double Trouble backs him on his latest one- don't get much better than that. ;D

My apologies for the delay, but I crashed and burned. Technically not me but my computer did and I just got it back. Cyber withdrawl is offically over. [/img] Never hurts to ask... ;D ;D
Ouch. I did ask for that didn't I? I suspected that was the case, thanks for confirming. I've always heard music people were a breed unto themselves. Over the hill? LS you certainly don't sound like you're over any hill to me. On that point I agree with you. I've heard the same from a lot of people, but I find most of his work very interesting. He doesn't stand still in one place. I agree with you again, good choice! D.B.'s an Indie out of San Francisco. He's got a website, it's not much but it's the music that counts right? www.dbwalker.comI was stunned myself when I found out he was Brazillian. Brazil is one place that doesn't come to mind when you think blues. Yes, I'm now familiar with Indigenous. I'd heard of them but didn't hear them until the album they did with Doyle Brahmhall and Double Trouble. Mato is a helluva player and I was impressed with the album. That's the only one I own so far, but I plan on picking up more from them. More Double Trouble? They've been keeping themselves plenty busy! I've been hearing a lot about Cummings but I haven't had a chance to give him a listen yet. Sounds like I'd better get on it. Speaking of Double Trouble, are you familiar with the one they recorded with Tommy Castro, Jimmy Hall and Lloyd Jones titled Triple Trouble? That's a good one too.

Thank you kindly. My apologies for the delay, but I crashed and burned. Technically not me but my computer did and I just got it back. Cyber withdrawl is offically over. Totally K Roland...computers- gotta love 'em- ugh!! I myself have absolutely no excuse for my delay...other than there's just not enough hours in the day. LOL...yep a breed unto ourselves alright. Maybe someday somebody'll figure out just what breed that is... ;D Far as 'over the hill' 'fraid it's true Older than dirt ...ask anyone here. Thanks!! VERY VERY NICE!! Dang- it's on back order - but got my name on the list... Ditto here on Nuno- but nevertheless the dude's awesome... Yeah- Mato rocks!! I've seen 'em a couple of times- they're way more impressive live than on disc though...If you're gonna go for more- I highly recommend going for Live At Pachyderm next...that one totally smokes. Yep...really great to see DT workin' it- I love those guys. On Albert Cummings- you better get on it. ;D His first one (The Long Way) is great too...but definitely grab From The Heart (the one with DT) first- I promise you won't be sorry there...His albums can be had pretty much everywhere- but CD Baby's the only site I know of where you can hear clips... And if you go to CD Baby to check out clips- since ya like that swampy delta sound...check out Hillstomp. Their disc One Word is major awesome. Not sure if you're familiar with The Black Keys- but these guys are kinda similar.

The lights're on but nobody's home. Where'd everybody go? I spend weeks on the road and come home to empty houses? I know I wasn't that wasted and DID go cut SB loose before I left ;D , but haven't been able to raise him since I got back. So what'd you do to him now Red? Some cherry names being thrown around. Some Albert Cummings, that sounds like just what the doctor ordered.

First we both headed south- just at opposite ends of the street- he had a gig at one end, I had a release party at the other...then I headed south and he headed east...and now he's heading south and I'm headed east...he's got a gig and I've got 5 weeks left and still have 20-some performers we gotta figure out where to put. But I'm sure he filled you in on all that last weekend...and as you can see- he's still alive- safe & sound. ;D (Ummm...he said he did and not that I don't trust him or anything ;D ...but he did deliver the disc didn't he??) If I don't catch up with you sooner...I'll catch you at the end of the week when I'm out that way.

Ye of so little faith. Yeah, yeah he carried out his mission perfectly Sarg. John Hancocked even, you're too good to me Red. The cut with Phoebe Snow and Dickey Betts blew my doors off. I'd a never thought! He caught me up to speed on the rest. SUX! That news came from out of left. I'm sorry to hear that, it must've been a real tough thing to watch. Sweetie, you really have to get out of there before it eats you alive. I'm only on the set up end, but how the hell are you going to fit them in? I said it after last year, it's outgrown it's home. A true testament to the people who grew it from a seed. I know everyone wants to keep it where it began, but it's time to start thinking about the logistics.

Bet that's one that fest in MD would ban in a heartbeat...lol!! Yeah well...I know. Can't stay...but can't go either. Hell- can't even think straight anymore. <Sigh> You wouldn't know anyone who could break a 'millenium curse' do ya?? The million dollar question... ;D An extra few hours in a day (or three) might do it. Course you know there's a perfect solution...but nobody wants to get involved with the county after all the crap they (and a certain other party ) pulled last year...
